Electric Homes Program 2023 Delivers Remarkable Results
The results from Geelong Sustainability’s 2023 Electric Homes Program are in, with 1,500 enthusiastic event attendees and 318 households installing products, it was a huge success.

Community Energy Revolving Fund Launched
We launched the Community Energy Revolving Fund to build energy resilience and help local organisations to cut power bills and reduce carbon emissions. The Fund helps not-for-profits access renewable energy upgrades, supporting them to install solar, batteries and energy efficiency measures. It’s powered by ‘Never Ending’ donations from the public, with each donation being invested over and over again! Helping to fund community energy projects for years to come.

Geelong Sustainability empowers students at Geelong College’s Futures Week
Geelong Sustainability recently had the pleasure of contributing to Geelong College’s Futures Week, an event dedicated to encouraging Year 9 students to explore their future. Over four enriching days, we engaged with approximately 160 enthusiastic students, inspiring them to think critically about climate change, sustainability and the significant roles they can play in shaping a better future.

Geelong Sustainability’s highly successful Community Power Hub program will continue to support local not-for-profit organisations in the Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Queenscliff and Golden Plains regions in the coming financial year.

Geelong Sustainability is proud to announce Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative as their community donation partner for the Electric Homes Program, emphasising our commitment to climate action as well as our journey towards reconciliation.

50% more EV’s in Geelong
As a direct result of an education and bulk-buy program we increased the number of electric vehicles in Geelong by 50%

Single-use Plastic Ban Success
We engaged with over 800 hospitality businesses across Barwon South West to provide information and support in the lead up to the Single Use Plastic ban

Solar Installed for Steiner School
We funded the installation of 49 solar panels at the Freshwater Creek Steiner School through an interest free loan from our Community Energy Revolving Fund
