What’s It All About?

So you’ve seen stories in the media about drones and how they’ll change or interrupt our lives. Maybe you’re contemplating purchasing a drone and want to know a little more about what to look for. Come along to check out drone options from micro-drones through to semi-professional models.

What Will We Cover?

Check out some real world applications involving drones, including a local project. Find out about the regulations you need to consider when flying a drone. Who knows you may even get a chance to pilot a drone.  Drones can create professional career opportunities such as photography, surveying, inspections and more!

Who will be teaching?

John Pearce was for a long time a primary school teacher. He now does consultancy work with teachers for a number of subject associations as well as being a part time tutor at Deakin University. He is also involved in a number of citizen science projects locally including the use of drones in the Victorian Coastal Monitoring Project.

Class cost is $15. Geelong Sustainability members receive a $5 discount (log in to get the discount).
