Protest Picnic Schedule
11.00am: Welcome and arrival
11.15am: ABC News filming and local media photo—come even if just for this! We need strong visuals showing the community’s opposition to this project, so every person counts.
11.30am onwards: Speeches from inspiring local voices, including representatives from the North Shore Residents Group and leading environmental organisations. They’ll share updates on the campaign and emphasise why now is the time to push for renewable energy solutions in Geelong.
The day will then continue with live music performances by Lachie Chomley from Seal Prince and the Roof Rats, creating a relaxed atmosphere as we come together over a picnic lunch. Bring something to share for the picnic, or enjoy a takeaway drink from the coffee van (remember to bring your cup) while mingling with friends, neighbours and like-minded community members.
This gathering is also an opportunity to take action. A letter-writing station will be set up where attendees can write unique letters to MPs, voicing their position against this dangerous fossil fuel project. We’ll also have a table where you can share and volunteer your skills and interests, helping us map out a strong team of volunteers as we build toward next year’s major event.

Come along, bring your signs and picnic blankets, and make connections in the community as we act to safeguard Geelong’s future. Together, we can show our MPs the real impact of an engaged, motivated community. Let’s make it a day of celebration, connection and action!
Register now so we know you are coming.
