The Orange-bellied Parrot is listed as critically endangered in Victoria. In summer, they fly across Bass Strait to breed in South West Tasmania. Film-maker, David Neilson from Snowgum Press has produced a new documentary looking at the recovery efforts in their Tasmanian breeding grounds.
A Q&A with the producer and local experts will follow the screening.
The event is a conservation fund raiser supported by the Geelong Field Naturalists Club and Geelong Sustainability.
Profits from this screening will go to Orange-bellied Parrot recovery efforts and Geelong conservation issues.
