Future Proofing Your Home For Climate Adaption
What’s It All About?
As the impacts of the climate emergency increase, the job of building and retrofitting homes to cope with this new reality will only become more urgent. The average Australian house built before 2001 was estimated at 1.8 stars.
What Will We Cover?
The good news is the Clean Energy Finance Corporation is now providing lower interest mortgage facilities for homes with 7 NatHERS Stars or more and is likely to initiate something similar for financing energy efficiency upgrades to existing homes.
Is your home at that level? Could it be be improved to achieve 7 Stars or more? If so, a 0.4% mortgage interest rate reduction is available.
Find out about the journey to achieving the 7+ Stars rating in this presentation.
Tim Adams will also outline the valuable lessons from the Geelong Sustainability – Climate Safe Rooms project
