The Presenters

Stephen Prendergast
Surf Coast Energy Group

Stephen is a Surf Coast resident having moved from Melbourne in 2018. He joined SCEG as a volunteer, helping with strategy and contributing to its various sub-committees including nature and biodiversity, and energy. Stephen runs a social and market research agency, Prescience Research, which offers services in data mining, economic valuation of public goods and community response modelling services. He has 36 years experience in the field and is an elected honorary fellow in the Australian Research Society. He has a degree in Business specialising in Marketing from Monash University, and an Applied Chemistry Degree from Melbourne University. Much of his free time is spent with his wife and family, working in his garden, bike riding and hiking.

Aaron Lewtas
Off Grid Energy

Growing up on the Surf Coast, Aaron developed a love for the ocean, outdoors and the natural environment. This interest led him to a career in renewable energy, where he’s been involved with the solar industry since 2007. Since then, Aaron has spent time volunteering with the Surf Coast Energy Group and running his own solar business. The last 10 years has seen a focus on off-grid system design, including analysis of expected energy consumption, household appliances and other aspects of home energy efficiency. Aaron is the National Business Manager for Off-Grid Energy Australia and holds accreditations for grid-connect solar and off-grid system design. He lives in Torquay with his wife and two kids, and enjoys surfing, foiling and camping.
