The next federal election will be one of the most critical in our history, taking place in the middle of a rapidly escalating climate crisis. We know that bold climate action is needed now more than ever. If we want to see real change, we need to mobilise a strong, engaged community to make climate action impossible to ignore.
That’s why we’re excited to bring Climate for Change, a volunteer-powered not-for-profit, to Geelong to run a special climate conversations training. This expert-led, two-hour workshop will equip you with the skills and confidence to have meaningful and persuasive conversations about climate change—conversations that inspire action and help build the movement we need to shape the outcome of this election. This is why we are bringing Effective Conversations to our community!Â
Date: Saturday 15th MarchÂ
Time: 2.30pm-5.00pm
Location: Company spot, Federal Mills
Cost: $5
It’s not a lack of climate knowledge or solutions holding us back—it’s the social and political will to act. Research shows that one of the most effective ways to create change is through conversations with people we know. By learning best-practice communication techniques, we can help shift opinions, empower more people to take action, and grow a powerful community of climate advocates.
We want to support our community, our volunteers and supporters to build capacity and skills in these crucial times, so we would love for you to join us to build a stronger community and become part of the vision we are working towards.
As we head into this election, we need to be strategic, informed, and organised. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and if we mobilise, we can influence the national conversation. Every conversation we have could be the turning point for someone deciding to vote for climate action or get involved in the campaign.
With limited spots available, we are asking for a small fee to secure your place and ensure commitment, as we are funding this vital training to strengthen our movement. Places are limited, so we encourage you to sign up early.
By attending this training we are asking you to commit to utilising these skills leading up to the federal election. This might look like initiating conversations with your community, speaking with community leaders or using those skills while volunteering for us during the federal election campaign, including handing out scorecards for early voting and on election day.Â
This is a crucial opportunity to upskill, connect, and take action. Let’s build the power we need to make climate a top priority in this election and beyond.

Climate for Change is a non-profit organisation that empowers Australians to have meaningful conversations about climate change to help combat eco-anxiety, avoidance, and apathy. Most Australians already know about climate change, and don’t need more information about it. In fact, they feel so overwhelmed with scary information that they try to ignore it, because they feel confused and powerless to do anything about it. We offer training and resources so that everyday Australians can have more effective conversations about climate change, and take action.
In our Effective Conversations workshop, you’ll experience a taster of our Climate Conversations facilitator training. You’ll learn tips from one of our most experienced facilitators on how to talk about climate change, theories of social change, and practise your conversation skills.
