Event Details
Geelong Sustainability invites our members to join us for our 2026 Annual General Meeting and Member Briefing on Thursday 12 November at Deakin University Waterfront.
It’s an opportunity to come together, reflect on the year that’s been and celebrate what we’ve achieved as a community, from delivering multiple award-winning local programs and strengthening our climate advocacy to progressing on our 2030 Strategy.
We are very excited to welcome Taegen Edwards from Renew Australia for All as our guest speaker. We are partnering with Renew Australia for All in the coming months to develop a Climate Safety Plan specifically for the Geelong region.
Renew Australia for All is an alliance backed by social services, unions, faith, community and multicultural groups, environment organisations and industry working together to deliver a fairer, better and more secure future for all Australians. The Climate Safety Plan is an incredibly important tool which can shape the way we prevent climate disaster down the road – rather than just adapting to it.
As impacts of climate change increase in our region we want to come together as a community and create localised advocacy asks through a Climate Safety Plan for Geelong and surrounds. This is an opportunity to hear more about this and participate, we are very excited to have Taegen join us.
The AGM is also an important opportunity for members to participate in the governance of our organisation, including the election of Board members who help oversee Geelong Sustainability’s finances, governance and strategic direction.
