Event Details

After our very successful Climate Connect event on July 22 where we had a great time reconnecting with our community, we are planning another Climate Connect event on Thursday September 10. This will be an opportunity to come together, network with like-minded people, and take away some new learnings.

What does this summer have in store for our region? This important event, Snapshot: The Summer Ahead, will explore how our region can respond to a changing climate. As communities around the world experience increasingly intense heat, we’ll explore what the latest climate outlook means for our region, including the likely influence of El Niño through extreme heat, drying soils, and elevated bushfire risk across large parts of Australia. It’s an opportunity to better understand the risks, share practical ideas and discuss how we can build resilience together.

As we approach the State Election, we’ll also be sharing ways you can get involved. We are excited to mobilise the community at a pivotal time and to share with you how you can make a real difference. We will allow plenty of time for questions and discussion and networking together afterward.

No matter how much or little contact you have had with other Geelong Sustainability events in the past, we encourage people of all ages, backgrounds, interests, and lifestyles to come along, meet new people and chat with like-minded humans.

An important step in Geelong’s journey towards becoming a zero-emission, climate-ready region is building resilient, connected communities. Through this series of community networking events, Geelong Sustainability aims to help connect and build our community to work together on our climate change goals.

This is a free event but registrations are essential.

Drinks and Food are available at bar prices
