Don’t miss this informative site tour of the City of Greater Geelong’s Garden Organics Processing Facility near Anakie, which opened recently.  Opened in August 2018, the $3.5m plant is now processing about 35,000 tonnes of garden organics. Participants will learn about the various steps in the composting process including: decontamination, shredding, windrow turning, pasteurisation, maturation and screening. They’ll also see how each batch is tested to ensure it is weed and pesticide free and meets the Australian Standard.
