Volunteer @ Pako Festa 2018

Like to be part of this wonderful community event?

Geelong Sustainability is again taking its sustainability messages to the 100,000 people who attend Pako Festa. It’s a fabulous all day event, with the street parade at noon and stalls running from 10am-4pm. We really like this event as it gives us an opportunity to engage with people who know little about our work but who are very receptive to our messages.

We are keen to build on our success from last two years, by having a strong cohort involved in the street parade and lots of inspiring signs, interesting displays and information at our marquee. Our marquee and the surrounding area, called the Local Makers’ and Growers’ area, is situated opposite the Geelong West Post Office.

To promote our new Zero Waste action group, we’ve decided to make it our theme for this year’s Pako Festa.

WHEN: Saturday 24th February
WHERE: Pakington Street, Geelong West.
VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT: 1) For the parade (10am-noon) and/or 2) For our stand (11am-3pm)

Do you have a GS T-shirt?  If yes, would you like to walk in the parade and help us to give away copies of our Directory or to carry our banner or a sign. If you don’t have a GS T-shirt then we have a few available for loan.
Like engaging with the public? We are seeking volunteers to talk to people about recycling right, composting and/or generally wasting less.
