Our August Green Drinks was held at Beav’s Bar on 24 August 2016. Geelong Sustainability invited board member Mik Aidt to give a presentation about what he learned from his recent trip to Denmark. It provided timely inspiration for the new community consultation process ‘Our Future’ which City of Greater Geelong Council officially launched on 1 September.

You can listen to audio recordings of the presentation and the group discussions which followed on www.climatesafety.info/inspiration-from-denmark

“We need to consider what we could be in 30 years time. What do we need to be a thriving, inclusive and sustainable city? How do we stay globally competitive? How do we meet the emerging needs of the community, whilst addressing environmental, economic and demographic changes? ‘Our Future’ will be based on the community’s ideas and hopes for what Geelong could be in 30 years from now.”
