Green Travel

Carbon offsets are not a viable way of reducing emmissions, we simply have to reduce our emissions by choosing to be responsible eg flying to Sydney creates 20 times the emissions than taking the train. We in the west are used to a life of variety and diversity that is mostly at the expense of people we can't see so sometimes it takes saying no to ourselves and choosing something kinder.

Eg: a return trip to Venezeula flying economy on a plane that is 80% full would emit 3478kg of CO2 and have  a warming effect of 10433kg CO2 equivalent ie 10 times the ideal annual emissions per person for a year ie 10 years of carbon emissions in a 2 week period just for the return journey.
