SAY NO TO BAD WOOD

Is your decking or furniture from the home of the vulnerable Sumatran orang-utan? It could be. Every year $400 million worth of illegally logged forest products are sold in Australia. In 2007, Kevin Rudd promised to ban illegal timber imports. But Minister for Forestry, Tony Burke, is trying to wriggle out of that promise. Use our online tool to create a unique message and ask the government to ban illegal timber imports.

Dear Kev, about my future…

In a month Kevin Rudd will pack his bags for the Copenhagen climate meeting, where world leaders hope to forge a global climate change agreement. But Mr Rudd is pushing for rules that would allow us to pay other countries to cut emissions while our dirtiest polluters carry on with business as usual. Let's tell Kev that his job is to protect our future, not the big polluters. Send him a letter and we'll copy it to your local MP.

If you want to see the food labelling laws changed, make a powerful statement with a personal submission to the government's labelling review.

But this has been the reality of our action-packed ship tour in the Pacific. Our two-month expedition to document and expose the Pacific's overfishing crisis is over. The world's last remaining healthy fisheries are being exploited. They're fast approaching the point of no return and marine reserves are urgently needed to restore them.

Help to save this rare animal

Wild male Orangutan, Central Kalimantan, IndonesiaIn Indonesia, more species are hurtling towards extinction than anywhere else on earth. The Sumatran orang-utan is in extreme danger. This gentle and intelligent ape has become critically endangered as its Indonesian forest habitat is destroyed. But it's not too late to turn things around. By donating to our forests campaign, you can directly protect the homes of endangered animals like the Sumatran orang-utan, Sumatran tiger and proboscis monkey before they disappear forever.
