The Climate Project
In Australia, Al Gore's climate change leadership program with the Australian Conservation Foundation, has trained 250 people as climate change presenters.
Each trainee is personally trained by Nobel Peace prize winner Al Gore, and is schooled in the science specific to Australian climate change issues.
The aim of the training is to educate Australians on the issues and consequences of climate change, using some of the material in Al Gore’s famous ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ slide show mas well as the latest Australian data.
More than 70,000 people have heard a climate change presentation since October 2006. Trainees come from all walks of life, including professional sports people, actors, executives, priests, school students and stay-at-home Mums.
By August 2008, it is predicted 1 in 100 Australians will have seen a climate change presentation.
Past GSG President Kathryn McCallum trained with Al Gore in September 2007 and is a great presenter. She is available to present the latest data on climate change to local groups.
